Actiance Expands Reach into Federal Sector with AltaTek Partnership
Relationship supports growing use of social networks and unified communications within Government agencies
Monday, February 6th, 2012Belmont, Calif. – Actiance, helping organizations benefit from new forms of communications and collaboration, today announced its agreement with specialist security integrator, AltaTek. The relationship expands Actiance’s reach into the federal sector, enabling AltaTek to offer Actiance’s portfolio of products to help organizations manage, secure and ensure compliance across unified communications, collaboration and Web 2.0 applications such as blogs, wikis and social networks.
AltaTek has strong reputation within the defense and intelligence communities for delivering innovative technologies that enhance the performance and security of complex networks. The partnership with Actiance supports the growing use of unified communications (UC) within the federal space and the need to secure these platforms, while enforcing a centralized corporate policy — areas that rogue real-time applications attempt to circumvent.
Vantage from Actiance, is the de facto platform for granular security, policy controls, and compliance features for real-time and unified communications. Vantage enables the management of a wide variety of platforms including Microsoft Lync, IBM Sametime, and Cisco Unified Presence (CUP), alongside public instant messaging platforms, and web conferencing such as Windows Live and Skype.
Actiance’s Unified Security Gateway (USG), complements Vantage by preventing the use of other applications that can potentially bypass security policies and introduce additional risk. USG provides granular control of Web 2.0 and social media applications, monitoring, securing, and recording content, to prevent outbound data leaks and enable compliance with industry regulations, eDiscovery requirements, and government policy standards.
