Computex, Taipei, Taiwan Quickoffice, Inc., the global leader in mobile office productivity solutions, has collaborated with Freescale Semiconductor to pre-load its software on Freescale’s Android tablet reference designs. At Computex, May 31 – June 4, Freescale will demonstrate Quickoffice’s leading mobile Office viewer on its Android Board Support Package (BSP) to showcase the performance, design flexibility and rich capabilities of the Freescale Smart Application Blueprint for Rapid Engineering (SABRE) platform for tablets, based on the i.MX53 family of multimedia applications processors.

Enhancing and streamlining productivity on-the-go, Quickoffice Pro for Android-based devices provides robust viewing and editing of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. In addition, the application seamlessly integrates with mobile cloud storage providers, including Google docs, Box.net, Huddle, SugarSync and Dropbox, to enable users to easily access their digital content stored in remote cloud repositories. Quickoffice also provides a user-friendly interface that is responsive to a consumer’s touch via its proprietary SmartTouch™ technology and includes an intuitive file manager for easy selection and movement of documents.

Freescale’s highly optimized Board Support Packages (BSPs), codecs and middleware maximize the capabilities of the i.MX53 feature set, while reducing overall system power consumption to enable longer play time on tablets. Freescale’s i.MX processors are well adopted in the eReader and tablet markets. Freescale’s SABRE platform for tablets can be used for a range of mobile devices requiring low power and an exceptional user experience. With the i.MX53 on-chip offerings, system-level power and performance optimizations and form-factor readiness, Freescale’s SABRE platform for tablets enables customers to rapidly innovate new consumer products, while providing a foundation for enabling new product designs in vertical markets.
