Managed Cloud Computing Provider Logicworks Selects ScienceLogic IT Management Software

Cloud Computing and Managed Hosting Service Provider Deploying ScienceLogic EM7 to Ensure Operational Excellence and Add Service Offerings

Tuesday, August 9th, 2011

RESTON, Va. – Service provider Logicworks has chosen the ScienceLogic Inc. EM7 IT operations and cloud management platform to ensure more consistent service delivery to its customer base as well as add new service monitoring offerings. New York-based Logicworks provides cloud computing and managed hosting to some of the world’s most popular websites and applications for clients including Dow Jones, Starwood Hotels, Major League Baseball, Radar Online, and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

The Logicworks Network Response Team will be the main user of ScienceLogic EM7, which will provide a 24/7 view into how they are providing services to end customers. EM7 will also automate the provisioning of monitoring services for the Logicworks infiniCloud™ public cloud offering as well as Logicworks’ private cloud services. This will free up staff time for more strategic projects, including using EM7 to create an advanced server and application monitoring offering for customers. In addition, the Logicworks Client Services Group will use EM7 to deliver customized, automated reports that detail service levels and usage trends to clients.

CRN recently named Logicworks a Top 20 Cloud Infrastructure Vendor Of 2011. ScienceLogic EM7 provides service providers with comprehensive, centralized management across their heterogeneous physical, virtual and cloud infrastructures to help them grow their business as well as deliver operational excellence. Service providers use EM7 to easily deploy and manage differentiated technologies and services, solve customer problems faster and offer a superior customer experience. The platform is used by managed hosting providers, software-as-a-service (SaaS) and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud computing providers, telecommunications service providers, value-added resellers, and traditional systems integrators.

“With Logicworks’ tremendous growth, we needed a more robust IT monitoring system to help ensure optimal customer service and meet our application service-level agreements,” said Stephanie Tayengco, vice president of network operations for Logicworks. “ScienceLogic EM7 will give us a holistic view of performance across our entire hosting infrastructure and alert us to the most critical issues. The product’s comprehensiveness will enable us to identify the root cause of potential problems faster rather than having to correlate different sources of information.”

“ScienceLogic will help Logicworks’ business grow more rapidly with clear metrics that show our value to customers along with a new custom monitoring service,” stated Tayengco. “The ScienceLogic automated reporting alone will enable us to better communicate with our entire customer base, show the level of service we are providing, and make recommendations based on each customer’s specific usage patterns. This was previously limited because calculations were done by hand.”

“Logicworks is a success story in providing high-availability cloud computing and other hosted solutions for clients that cannot afford any downtime or degradation in service,” said David Link, ScienceLogic CEO. “ScienceLogic EM7 provides Logicworks with a foundation for further success with its ability to create new revenue streams, offer differentiated services, and deliver exceptional customer service across virtual and cloud resources without the time and expense of integrating multiple management tools.”
