Solarflare Establishes VAR Partnership with Torrey Point Group to Address The Network Architecture Pain Points of Customers

Leading 10 Gigabit Ethernet solutions provider increases its ability to reach and service customers worldwide through an enhanced channel

IRVINE, Calif. – Solarflare, the company pioneering 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE), announced today that it now has a reseller agreement with Torrey Point Group, LLC, a leading network architecture consultancy that provides customers with design, implementation and support for their next-generation networks. Torrey Point Group will help increase Solarflare’s ability to further reach customers in the financial, high-performance computing (HPC), cloud computing and server virtualization markets in the US. Through its new partnership, Solarflare will be able to better pursue trading firms, who need to build low-latency network clusters, and data center managers wanting to improve I/O in their server virtualization infrastructures.

Torrey Point’s core competencies include design and implementation of data center infrastructures, low-latency switching for trading, service provider networks, network management, core routing, large campus and enterprise networks, wireless and advanced security services.

First launched in September 2010, Solarflare’s VAR program provides channel partners with the resources required to generate and close new business at an accelerated pace. The tiered program offers VARs a unique combination of features and benefits based on their primary business needs to help them gain a clear market advantage. Divided into three categories, Platinum, Gold and Silver, these partners can quote and purchase through Solarflare’s two-tiered distribution channel, and receive direct support from the company’s technical support and sales channel teams.

Solarflare’s SFN5000 line of 10GbE server adapters delivers the industry’s highest-performance, lowest-power solutions on both 10GBASE-T for installed twisted pair copper cabling and SFP+ for installed optical fiber. Due to its hardware-assisted support for virtualization, Solarflare’s 10GbE adapters deliver up to five times the application performance of other server adapters by accelerating virtual I/O for Citrix XenServer, Microsoft Hyper V and VMware. Solarflare adapters also possess the industry’s most scalable virtualization architecture.

To date, Solarflare has shipped its SFN5122F 10GbE dual-port SFP+ adapter to over 100 customers and 150 locations. The SFN5122F is installed with its OpenOnload application acceleration middleware in every major equities exchange worldwide.
